American standard cast steel fixed ball valve - API/ASME system large-diameter high-pressure low-torque isolation solution

Design concept

The pressure-bearing shell is made of ASTM A216/A352/A351 series casting materials and strictly follows the API 6D and ASME B16.34 American standard systems. The ball is rigidly fixed to the center of the valve body by the upper and lower ear shafts. The thrust of the medium is introduced into the valve body through the ear shafts instead of being pressed downstream towards the valve seat. The valve body is made by near-final casting process, which can be formed in one go to create a fully through-flow channel, reinforcing ribs and discharge interface. Core logic: Covering large-diameter demands with the economic efficiency of cast steel, resolving high-pressure thrust with ear shaft support and achieving low-torque operation, ensuring full life cycle compliance with the complete closed loop of American standards, providing cost-controllable and stable-performance standardized isolation solutions for large-diameter medium and high-pressure pipelines in the oil and gas, chemical, power and other industries.

Performance advantage

· Class series temperature and pressure system: Strictly follow the temperature and pressure curve in ASME B16.34 Appendix. The allowable working pressure of the valve at each temperature under the given material and Class grade is clearly limited to prevent the misuse of over-temperature and over-pressure.

· Extremely low operating torque: The medium thrust is carried by the ear bearing, and the torque is only 1/3 to 1/5 of that of the floating ball of the same specification, significantly reducing the specification and procurement cost of the actuator.

· Bidirectional airtight grade seal: The downstream valve seat medium is self-tightened, and the upstream valve seat spring is pre-tightened, meeting the API 598 high-pressure gas seal zero bubble acceptance, and reliable bidirectional disconnection from low pressure to full pressure.

· Cavity pressure self-relief: The upstream valve seat automatically slightly opens to release the abnormal pressure rise in the middle cavity caused by reheating, without the need for an external safety valve, ensuring intrinsic safety.

· Uniform sealing wear: The ball is precisely centered and limited by the ear shaft, without uneven wear. The wear rate of the upstream and downstream valve seats is consistent, and the sealing life is multiplied.

· Economic efficiency of large diameters: The casting is close to the final formation, with high material utilization rate. The comprehensive cost for DN150 and above is significantly better than that of the forged steel solution.

· Structural damping and vibration reduction: The inherent damping characteristics of the casting structure can absorb pipeline vibration and thermal shock, making it suitable for pulsating working conditions such as compressor outlets.

· Full diameter and low flow resistance: The ball hole is consistent with the inner diameter of the pipe, with nearly zero pressure loss. It can pass through a pigging device to meet the inspection requirements inside the pipeline.

Safety performance

· Fireproof structure: Standard with primary non-metallic seal + secondary graphite/metal seal, certified by API 607/6FA fire test, maintaining effective shut-off in case of fire.

· Anti-blowout valve stem: The reverse sealing step design meets the mandatory requirements of API 608. Even when the cover is completely loosened, the valve stem will not be blown out by the medium pressure.

· Anti-static conduction: The resistance between the ball, valve stem and valve body is ≤10Ω, eliminating the risk of static electricity accumulation.

· Cavity pressure self-relief protection: The upstream valve seat automatically relieves pressure to prevent deformation or rupture of the middle cavity due to pressure build-up.

· Quality assurance of castings: 100% radiographic testing of pressure-bearing castings, acceptance in accordance with MSS SP-55, and elimination of volume defects such as shrinkage porosity and gas holes.

Applicable working conditions

· Medium: crude oil, refined oil products, natural gas, water, steam, hydrocarbons, chemical solvents, and media containing solid particles

· Scenarios: Cut-off at the entry and exit of long-distance pipeline stations, main process pipelines in refining and chemical industries, high-pressure water supply and steam in power plants, and offshore platforms, and pulp conveying
