Hard-sealed fixed cast steel ball valve - a low-torque metal sealing solution for large-diameter high-temperature and wear-resistant working conditions
Design concept
The valve body is made of cast steel (such as WCB/CF8M, etc.), and the full-through flow channel and reinforcing ribs are formed in one piece by casting process. The sphere is fixedly supported by the ear shaft. The medium thrust is introduced into the valve body through the ear shaft, and the sealing surface only bears the controllable spring preload force. The sealing pair is of an all-metal hard sealing structure. The sealing surfaces of the ball and the valve seat are surfacing with hard alloys such as Stellite or tungsten carbide and are precisely ground. Core logic: Cover the demand for large diameters with the economic efficiency of cast steel, achieve low-torque operation and uniform wear with ear shaft support, and resist high temperatures and particle erosion with all-metal seals. Provide wear-resistant, long-life, and easy-to-operate isolation components for the harsh working conditions of large diameters that soft seals cannot handle.
Performance advantage
· All-metal hard sealing pair: The sealing surfaces are all made of hard alloy, with no non-metallic soft sealing elements. The upper limit of applicable temperature far exceeds that of PTFE/PEEK, and it remains stable for a long time at high temperatures.
· Resistance to particle erosion: The sealing surface of Stellite or tungsten carbide hard alloy has extremely high hardness and can resist the erosion and wear of solid particle media containing catalyst powder, slurry, coal powder, etc.
· Low operating torque: The medium thrust is carried by the ear bearing, and the torque is only 1/3 to 1/5 of that of the floating ball of the same specification, significantly reducing the specification and procurement cost of the actuator.
· Bidirectional airtight grade seal: The medium in the downstream valve seat is self-tightened, and the spring in the upstream valve seat is pre-tightened. Combined with a precisely ground hard sealing pair, it meets the API 598 zero-bubble acceptance, ensuring reliable bidirectional disconnection from low pressure to high pressure.
· Cavity pressure self-relief: The upstream valve seat automatically slightly opens to release the abnormal pressure rise in the middle cavity caused by thermal transients, without the need for an external safety valve, ensuring intrinsic safety.
· Uniform sealing wear: The ball is precisely centered and limited by the ear shaft, without eccentric wear. The wear rate of the upstream and downstream valve seats is consistent, and the sealing life is multiplied.
· Economic efficiency of large diameters: The complex valve body is cast in one piece, and the comprehensive cost for DN150 and above is significantly better than that of the forged steel solution.
· No cold flow creep: The all-metal seal does not have the cold flow deformation problem of PTFE-like materials. The long-term pressure-holding seal does not loosen, and its service life far exceeds that of soft seals.
· Full diameter and low flow resistance: The ball holes are the same as the inner diameter of the pipe, with nearly zero pressure loss, and can pass through the pigging device.
Safety performance
· Intrinsic fire resistance: The all-metal hard sealing pair itself is a fireproof structure. In case of fire, there is no need to rely on non-metallic secondary seals, directly meeting the API 607/6FA requirements.
· Anti-blowout valve stem: The reverse sealing step design complies with API 608. Even when the cover is completely loosened, the valve stem will not be blown out by the medium pressure.
· Anti-static conduction: The resistance between the ball, valve stem and valve body is ≤10Ω.
· Cavity pressure self-relief protection: The upstream valve seat automatically relieves pressure to prevent deformation or rupture of the middle cavity due to pressure build-up.
· High-temperature thermal stability: The metal seal matches the thermal expansion coefficient of the valve body, ensuring no jamming or leakage at high temperatures.
