Low-temperature cast steel ball valve
Design concept
By using the casting process to nearly form the valve body, the cost advantage of complex flow channels and large diameters is achieved. With the fixed ball ear shaft support as the core structure, it can dissolve the thrust of high-pressure medium and achieve low-torque operation.
Performance advantage
· Large-diameter economy: The valve body is cast in one piece, with a high material utilization rate. The comprehensive cost for DN150 and above is significantly better than that of forged steel solutions, making it the preferred choice for large-diameter cryogenic pipelines.
· Extremely low operating torque: The thrust of the medium carried by the fixed ball ear bearing is only 1/3 to 1/5 of that of the floating ball bearing of the same specification. It can be used with smallger-sized cryogenic actuators to reduce the set cost.
· Bidirectional zero leakage: The medium of the downstream valve seat is self-tightened, and the spring of the upstream valve seat is pre-tightened, meeting the API 598 zero-bubble acceptance, with reliable bidirectional shutdown from low pressure to full pressure.
· Cavity pressure self-relief: The upstream valve seat automatically releases the abnormal pressure rise caused by the reheating of the medium to the upstream, ensuring the safety of the middle cavity without the need for an external safety valve.
· Uniform sealing wear: The ball is precisely centered and limited by the ear shaft, without uneven wear. The service life of the upstream and downstream valve seats is balanced, and the sealing performance is stable throughout the entire life cycle.
· Full diameter and low flow resistance: The ball hole is consistent with the inner diameter of the pipe, with nearly zero pressure loss. It can pass through a pigging device and meet the requirements for internal pipeline inspection.
· Vibration damping characteristics of cast steel: The inherent damping property of the casting structure can absorb pipeline vibration and thermal shock, making it suitable for pulsating cryogenic conditions such as compressor outlets.
Safety performance
· Essential resistance to cold brittleness: ASTM low-temperature cast steel grade is selected, with an impact energy of ≥27J at -46°C or -196°C, eliminating the risk of low-temperature brittle fracture.
· Anti-blowout valve stem: The reverse sealing step design complies with API 608. Even when the cover is completely loosened, the valve stem will not be blown out by the medium pressure.
· Extended valve cover: The neck extends beyond the insulation layer to ensure that the temperature of the stuffing box is above the freezing point, preventing cracking and dissipation due to freezing.
· Fireproof structure: Standard equipped with primary non-metallic seal + secondary metallic seal, certified by API 607/6FA, maintaining effective shut-off in case of fire.
· Anti-static electricity conduction: The resistance of the ball - valve stem - valve body is ≤10Ω, which can promptly conduct away the static electricity flowing in the medium.
· Cavity pressure self-relief protection: The valve seat upstream of the fixed ball automatically relieves pressure to prevent deformation or rupture of the middle cavity due to pressure build-up.
· Casting density guarantee: 100% radiographic testing of pressure-bearing castings, acceptance in accordance with MSS SP-55, and elimination of casting defects before leaving the factory.
Applicable working conditions
